LAWSON

I began painting in oil, but later on found that a mixed media of acrylics, ink, collage and transfers gave greater scope to my work. I often utilize a layering technique, using polymer or varnish. I prefer vivid and warm luminous colors and sometimes use found objects for greater dimension.

I move back and forth between representational and non-representational.

In the representational pieces I sometimes “talk” in my work. At times this appears as a “Stream of Consciousness” meandering, but often my piece is created around a specific message that expresses my own metaphysical philosophy.

The non-representational work has a visual language that goes beyond the need for words, allowing the beholder to translate from their own unique conceptual experience of contemporary life.

I avoid a particular style, and never reproduce my work, so my creations are always distinctive, one of a kind, originals. I will consider commissioned work .

My desire is that my expressions resonate with the soul of the observer and my work becomes theirs to enjoy.
